Giorgio Caldesi
Managing Director at Caldesi in Marylebone
On Giorgio’s first day of life, his father, Giancarlo held him in his outstretched arms and introduced him to the customers. For his first two years he lived above Caldesi restaurant in Marylebone Lane. Twenty years later he now lives above our current restaurant, Caldesi, in Marylebone Lane.
From being amused by the chefs as a baby, while mum, Katie was busy in the office to lending a hand to making gnocchi when he was just a few years old, Giorgio grew up in a restaurant. By the age of 11 he was helping front of house and remembers carrying ice cream to customers.
In his year out, Giorgio worked in Japan at a school in Sendai and now speaks fluent Japanese.
After gaining a first in Business Management at university, Giorgio returned to Caldesi and is now enjoying the challenges of running a restaurant.
